The tree in fall

Sighs in clumps of leaves

Sits back branches bare

Lets the winter frost fill the empty space

The tree in fall does not race against time

It knows that change breathes life

And love for what was and what will be again

When the orange foliage returns once more

And its onlookers with newfound appreciation
